Axis Now Supports Brain Installation

Starting today, Axis can be installed directly to a compatible neural interface, in addition to the normal User Install and Server Install options.

Installation

To get started, simply open the install menu and select the new third option.

You'll be asked to authorise Axis the same way you would for any other install. A few new permissions are required for this install type.

Once authorised, you're all set. Axis will confirm the install and begin running.

Supported devices

• Neuralink (N1, all firmware versions)
• Most third-party BCIs with Discord API passthrough enabled
• Brain

What changes

Once installed, Axis runs persistently in the background the same way it does anywhere else. Slash commands work as expected. /help now inserts the response as a thought directly, no typing or reading required.

Known issues

• Brain-installed Axis cannot currently be muted

• Users report the bot occasionally responding to thoughts about slash commands instead of prefix commands with hostility

• Uninstalling requires kicking Axis the same way you would from a server (untested)

• Concurrent installations to multiple users at once may result in shared context between brains. Rest assured that we're looking into it.

• Dependency downloads on first install are larger than expected (~40TB). A small number of users have reported overheating and, in rare cases, minor explosive cranial venting. A fix is planned for a future update.
