Why did I create Axis? I guess it was the weather.

The Problem with Other Bots

I was tired of every bot practically requiring payment just to get any semblance of a full feature set. Want basic moderation? That’ll be $5 a month. Want to use more than three commands? That’s premium. Want to breathe in the same room as the bot? That’s the platinum ultra 4k tier.

I hated that, and so with my prior practice creating other small bots, I decided to create Axis as a competitor in the all-in-one space.

The Vision

I wanted a bot that was actually usable without forcing people to spend anything. But not just "usable" in the bare-minimum sense—I mean rich, customizable, and powerful right out of the gate. Axis needed to be something people could rely on, whether they were casual server owners or power users who wanted to fine-tune every aspect of their bot experience.

And let’s be real—Discord bots have been in this weird spot where it’s either "baby's first bot" that gives you almost no control, or it's "you need to be a certified engineer to even set up basic automoderation." I didn’t want that divide, so I tried to create the best of both worlds—simplicity for users wanting an easy solution, and super advanced features for super advanced users. But beyond just being "free and functional," I also just wanted to introduce new functionality to the Discord bot scene.

Why I Keep Going

Of course, once you make a bot, you realize there's always more to add. More features, more integrations, more ways to make it even better. That’s the fun part—watching it evolve, adapting to what users need, and ensuring it stays the bot people want to use, not just another option in an overcrowded space.

But to avoid sounding like pure marketing yap, I'll also mention that it's just a personal hobby of mine. I like to create something and see it blossom into something more than I was ever initially imagining by adding more and more.

So, why did I create Axis? Because I wanted a bot that actually cared about the people using it. And because I'm stubborn. But mostly that first thing. And maybe the weather.
